Zhang Liming - Make a mini wood kiln

Ever wanted to have your own kiln? One that does traditional firing using wood? One that heats up in just an hour? This Masterclass, led by the brilliant Zhang Liming, who has dedicated his life and career to mastering clay, fire, and kilns, will teach you how to build your own Mini Wood Kiln.

Greg Daly - Lustres

Ever been curious about how ceramics can shimmer with iridescence in gold, silver, and all the colours of the rainbow? Meet Greg Daly, the true master of lustres and a wizard of iridescence. In this workshop, he will unveil and explain the magic behind the mysterious world of lustre glazes. The workshop will begin with a history lesson, tracing lustre from its 9th-century Egyptian origins to contemporary applications. The Masterclass will also explore the four types of lustres: pigment, lustre glaze, fuming, and resincate. Greg will cover each technique with practical and technical methods, so you will leave with the know-how to create a lustred surface on your own work.

Don’t get too excited, and please keep your clothes on! Naked Throwing refers to a traditional method of throwing that requires no tools!
